AIM: What contributions did Ancient Greek culture make to the ancient world and today?
Do Now: Ancient Greek Contributions Worksheet
Some of the contributions the Ancient Greeks made to the Ancient world and today are:
- Philosophy (Socrates, Plato, Aristotle)
- Architecture (Columns - Ionic, Doric, Corinthian) - Parthenon, Temple of Zeus, Colossus of Rhodes)
- Systems of Government (democracy, oligarchy, aristocracy, dual monarchy - 2 kings)
- History (Herodotus, father of history/ Thucydidies)
- Olympics (Ancient & Modern)
- Various forms of literature/culture (plays and pieces of art, Red and black figure vases, and statues)
- Underground aqueducts
